COVERS

A CULINARY TRIBUTE TO SERGE GAINSBOURG

San Francisco, CA—Covers dinner returns! Wednesday and Thursday, September 7th and 8th graffEats and Noise Pop come together to celebrate the enigmatic French pop icon Serge Gainsbourg through food and music. Using the Covers template graffEats’ chef, Blair Warsham will produce a six course gourmet meal featuring his “covers” of signature dishes from the world’s culinary luminaries; Noise Pop then pairs each course with thematic cover songs, all of which pay tribute to Serge Gainsbourg. Imagine the beloved Eric Ripert (from New York’s Le Bernardin) dish Carolina Shrimp Ravioli with Tarragon and Sauce Americaine paired with Snooze’s electro version of the Gainsbourg favorite, “New York USA”. Fresh off a highly successful, highly praised run of Covers at the Secret Alley in May, this Covers dinner will undoubtedly be another benchmark event for both foodies and music lovers alike.

The location is a secret destination in SOMA San Francisco CA, which will be disclosed to ticket holders closer to the date. Tickets are $85 (corkage fee included) and can be purchased here; VIP tickets are $110 (includes wine pairings by our sponsors with meal and access to open bar cocktail hour provided by our sponsors) and can be purchased here.

ABOUT

graffEats is a of word of mouth, upscale dining event; hosting artists, artisan producers, wine and beer makers, live musicians and complete strangers under the common bond of delicious food coming straight. Run by chef Blair Warsham, who has cooked for some the best chefs in the US and Europe, including 11 Madison Park’s Daniel Humm, their intention is to create little, fleeting, amazing moments and a bit of a culinary roller coaster.

Noise Pop sprang to life in 1993. It was originally a single night in a small club showcasing the best of the burgeoning underground San Francisco music scene. It has since developed into one of the country’s leading independent music festivals. The event has achieved grassroots and critical success, as well as international recognition. Many of the most important artists of our time—including The White Stripes, Death Cab For Cutie, Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Bright Eyes, and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco have played on Noise Pop stages.

Over the course of five days, Noise Pop presents dozens of unique and important music shows in the city’s best-loved venues. It has grown to include a film festival, an educational series, art openings and dining experiences. It is a music-lover’s celebration and a celebration of San Francisco—the shows sell out, people have fun, and every year the event grows in size and scope.

Noise Pop also co-produces the Treasure Island Music Festival in October. The two-day festival has featured some of the most exciting burgeoning and established indie artists of our time. Much like the Noise Pop Music Festival, Treasure Island is a love letter to San Francisco and its one-of-a-kind independent culture.
